Sitting in the Void

I was talking with my friend Wendy last night and she said something that really resonated with me: "This is the dichotomy within a physical being.  We need to see both sides of an issue, and that both sides are valid.  Maybe one just needs to sit in the void between the two, and here they will come together." 

What struck me about this was the statement, "sitting in the void".  As Lightworkers we are a very diverse group with many belief systems and different personalities.  Somehow though we are to be one Spirit, working together to "sit in the void" as it were, fostering understanding, light and tolerance.   How then do we sit in the void without judgement?  How do we create a place where we are the translators, the medium, the go between, the facilitators of communication? 

It seems to me the only way to do this is to BE the Light.  We have to daily leave our human frailties, our opinions that do not serve others, our sterotypes, and even our individual hot buttons and issues at the door.  Daily we have to invite the Light to work in us, to be in us, and to shine through in us.  In this way we become more than what we are, yet retain our individuality.  When the Light works in us in this way it is no longer us but Spirit that shines in us.   Spirit loves working in imperfect vessels because the more imperfect the vessel, the more it is clear it is Spirit, and thus Spirit gets the glory.  It is the essense of the Divine spark of Spirit that we then channel and become daily. 

This is not an easy walk because it means putting to death as it were our shadow selves.  All that which is negative, self serving, self justifying is laid at the feet of Spirit.  It is walking in hope, in faith, in peace and in joy in spite of circumstance.  When we walk this way we take our challenges as lessons rather than as problems that can bring us down.  Each step we take we make a decision to walk in Light.  When we err and fall off the path what is so wonderful is the loving compassion of Spirit that simply says, "You are loved, you are Mine, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep walking.  Run the race with patience.  When you feel you are alone there I am.  When you can not walk I will carry you.  There is no temptation taken you except that which is common to mankind.  But with every temptation every issue, every challenge there will be a way out given by Spirit.  Know you are held in the palm of Spirit's hand.  Trust and run with faith. 

This then is the challenge, the hope, and joy of a Lightworker, of being called to sit in the void.  To be a facilitator of change, hope, light, and faith in these times.
